I don't see why a simple GOTY package straight ported from PS360 is unfeasible. Goes without saying, the Call of Duty games feel super obvious ones. Resident Evil 5 and 6 (in-house ports surprisingly), Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 (do these count?)(I think TOSE or even K2 did these?), Xtreme Legends Dynasty Warriors 8 Definitive Edition (again not AAA but it's a mainline DW game, that's pretty major)(in-house), the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection (all three games)(in-house I think), every PS3-era Atelier game (AA only but these were pretty welcome nonetheless)(in-house), Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy (these are basically AAA anime games, like holy cow did CC2 do some crazy stuff here)(by Bullets), Valkyria Chronicles (by O-TWO), and Feral Interactive's two outstanding ports GRiD Autosport and Alien Isolation! We also have a lot of digital-only ones, such as: QLOC also really seems to be a fantastic Switch port team (they did Hellblade on Switch for crying out loud!), shame they don't do more on Switch or at least more often. All Bioshock games were by Virtuos and all of these seemingly wonderfully done as well.ĭragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen by QLOC was another great port. Borderlands 1 and 2 were by Turn Me Up (they also did Tony Hawk on Switch), with Pre-Sequel being by Behavior Interactive. Next we have 2K's two trio of Borderlands and Bioshock ports, can't forget them. While Third had some issues, it seems that 4 (which was I think based on the higher-end version, none existed until after for Third) turned out better? Kaiko did the Darksiders and Red Faction ports, while Deep Silver Fishlabs did both Saint's Row games. Pretty nice bit of OG THQ's PS360 legacy on Switch. We then also have THQ Nordic and Deep Silver's surprising ones Darksiders 1 and 2 and Red Faction Guerilla, and Saint's Row The Third and IV Re-Elected. Dark Souls, on Switch by Virtuos sadly was directly based on the PS360 original, while not bad on its own, was havily brought down from horrific compression affecting audio quality, and also odd button mapping (very strange situation there). They made a good name for themselves for good Switch ports. Iron Galaxy after Skyrim did this and I think that was also done very well. These aren't technically AAA but are on the higher-end of Namco's lot I feel.Īctivision Blizzard did give Switch one big PS360 remaster Diablo 3.

3 did get a patch or two which helped things IIRC.įinally of the above Vesperia was by QLOC on all systems, with Engine Software instead handling Ni no Kuni on Switch (QLOC did the other ports). Some have kinks, like 3 being directly based on the PS360 original and Rogue has some audio issues that never got fixed IIRC. Apparently 3 was ported by Ubisoft Barcelona, and all the other main games were ported by the Chengdu team, with Liberation being by Virtuos on all platforms? ( claims here in the quotes).

Then you have pretty much the full suite of Assassin's Creed remasters all on Switch, including Liberation HD from Vita. Digital Foundry only looked at the Switch port of Burnout sadly. Then we have Stellar Entertainment's remasters of two Criterion-made racers (pretty sure the team was formed by ex-Criterion staff to boot), and after a late port of Burnout, came the day 1 release for NFS. Sabre Interactive (the Sweden team IIRC?) did the honors for the entire Crysis trilogy on Switch and might be some of the most impressive games technically on the system from what I remember seeing (check out Digital Foundry's vids on them).

Once again Digital Foundry did a fantastic look at the ports. Remember that? These were brilliantly done on Switch.

This was really appreciated after the Wii U version of Last Light was just cancelled because 4A just gave up on it like super shortly after it was announced.

In a rare moment, the Metro ports (also based on the remastered versions), were actually by 4A Games in-house. This was such a huge deal at the time and still mind-blowing. I remember when this was the BIG showcase 3rd-party game (alongside NBA2K) in the first Switch reveal trailer. Iron Galaxy did the honors and did a fantastic job it seems (plus it being based on the remastered version, not the OG version).

Skyrim is of course perfectly timed as the anniversary update just launched today.
